No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character, or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for. Today we mourn four more Americans who represent the very best of the United States of America. We will not waver in our commitment to see that justice is done for this terrible act. And make no mistake, justice will be done.

Remarks by the President on the Deaths of U.S. Embassy Staff in Libya | The White House

There is the text of the Rose Garden speech in which Obama speaks of the attacks in Libya in terms of “acts of terror.”

Give Candy @CrowleyCNN credit for her super-fast fact check on that one.

Let it be also said, though, that this hackneyed American political rhetoric of retributive justice is appalling. There is nothing more corrosive of human community than the cycle of violent retribution. To call it “justice” at all is anathema.
