To bring an academic eye to the issues and help students cope, some professors here have rewritten their course syllabi to focus on the Sandusky scandal.

“I’m trying to create a safe space for students to talk,” says Jonathan H. Marks, an associate professor of bioethics, humanities, and law at Penn State’s main campus. “What we have experienced here is one very disturbing reflection of human behavior.”
